I due protagonisti sono Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), ex star di una serie televisiva western, e Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), suo storico stuntman. Entrambi fanno fatica a sfondare in questa Hollywood nuova e così diversa dal passato. Ma Rick ha una vicina di casa molto famosa... Sharon Tate.
